I have chosen to make an ident for CBeebies. In my mind map I have included the different programmes on that channel because I need to link my ident to the type of programmes shown. I have three different ideas of themes, one is to use teddy bears or dolls, kids doing sign language and the other one is to use a toy animation. I could use teddy bears and dolls in a way to show them as they are the kids. To do this I could make the teddies look like they are going to school or on holiday playing with other teddy's. I will do this by making them wear a ruck sake and take pictures of every step that they take or every move they make. Then at the end I will put all the images together to make a stop motion animation. I think that this will work for the target audience because the teddy bears will link to what the kids will have and then they will laugh because they will think that the teddy's are walking. Secondly, I think that the kids doing sign language will be good because Something Special is on that channel so they can relate that to the programme. It may also make more kids watch Something Special because it is showing children learning from that programme. Finally, my last theme is to use toys. I will use toys that are for the age group 1-6 so that they can relate to the ident. I will want to put the toys outside in maybe a kids playground so they are playing in the playground like the kids would.
My final theme is to use the toys because I think it will appeal to the kids more than any of the other themes. This is because most children would play with toys more than teddies or watching something special. The children may see some of the toys that are sown on the ident and ask if they can have that toy because it looks fun or they just want it. I am thinking to make the toys do different activities for the suite of idents. Maybe different activities that kids would participate in during the day, eating their breakfast, lunch or dinner, or playing with their friends. I am thinking of having a different ident for a different time of the day, early morning or night time.
To adapt the idea I thought about the different times of day that I can do for example in the morning I could get the toys to wake up or to eat their breakfast. Late afternoon I could get the toys to come home from school or get dressed into their own clothes. At night time the toys could be going to bed or get changed into their pyjamas. I chose these activities to do at these times of day because it is clearly linked to what the kids may do at them times of day. I also thought about the season of the year, maybe I could use summer and make the toys look like they are playing in the park. Maybe if the toys are big enough I could make them wear sunglasses. If the season is winter then I could get the toys to look like they are having a snow ball fight or sitting around a fire to warm up. I have also thought about the different holidays like christmas or easter. If it is christmas time then the toys could look like they are opening their presents in the morning or they are decorating their homes. I thought this was a good idea because it links to the christmas theme quite well and there are toys being used so the kids can be attracted and not lose concentration from the television. All kids love christmas as well so they can get excited for christmas when they see the ident. It will be like a constant reminder.
